Shift a chord up or down by semitones.

How to transpose a chord

  1. Choose the source root and chord quality.
  2. Set a shift from −11 to +11 semitones.
  3. Play the new chord and copy a link to the result.

Example

C major shifted by +2 becomes D major: D, F# and A.

What stays the same

The chord formula stays unchanged: every chord tone moves by the same number of semitones.
